Features

The Refractive Surgery Consultant™ Elite is a feature-rich program that is designed to blend in with your existing practice. Designed to meet a spectrum of needs, this program can be customized from the basic level of only producing nomograms, to Quality Assurance, to research.

Data entry forms are laid out in logical order to follow the sequence of a refractive patient examination. Surgical planning incorporates the user-defined treatment profiles, which includes the surgeon, the specific laser, software version, Hertz rate, and treatment diameters. Nomograms are constantly updated as more data is entered, and incorporated as they can be shown to statistically improve outcomes. A variety of reports and expandable report capabilities provide immediate answers to surgeons to analyze results, in a logical and interactive format.
New users are introduced to the program with a Setup Wizard that tailors the program to your needs. Since it takes between 50 to 100 cases to generate an optimized nomogram, the program allows entry of your existing nomogram to assist in surgical planning from the first day.
Our current version, The Refractive Surgery Consultant™ 2000, contains many exciting features and upgrades. For example, the new reports contain more extensive and valuable information. Both the Summary Reports and Surgical Plans can now be printed. The treatment profile setup now allows you to ignore certain features, such as "keratomes" if you don't want to consider them in your nomograms, and to speed data entry. Surgical planning allows you to use any preoperative refraction you wish - allowing you to make adjustments to the manifest refraction according to surgeon preference. Vertex distances can be set to your preference throughout the program.

Several layers of data validation have been added to provide added protection against data entry errors. Also, program options are now protected against unauthorized modification, and a new "administrator" user has been added (call tech support for password).

The Help menu has been dramatically enhanced. Always read the help screens for more information. Additionally, you can always access our extensive context-sensitive Help files by pressing F1 for every screen in the program.
